Its not good to lean on a sole perspective, and especially solely from a Protestant point of view, where words and opinions can be taken out of context. Its incorrect to say that the Catholic Church no longer swear by truth of the Bible, where it was the Church that gave the world the Bible. Moreover, the word Bible came from them too. Echoing what Mark has said, yes a BIG difference in saying something is not accurate and saying it(or parts of it) is not true. The Catholics LOVE and BELIEVE in the Bible, and yes, literally.

I think that there is a "liberal" element that exists in both Catholic and Protestant areas of Christiandom. All branches of the Church are under attack by those that would minimize, intellectualize (often with "facts" that are not), and water down the Word. I grew up in a conservative midwest USA protestant area that saw the national leaders of the church tear it apart with behavior clearly identified in the Word as deviant. I have also seen the Cathlolic church go through similar situations. However, there still remains in ALL branches of the Church, a small, committed, and faithful group that is committed to carry on the true meaning and purrpose of the scriptures.

PS...I noticed that you kindly linked my blog, thank you. However, I recently moved to a different server so the link on your page is incorrect, just point the link to blog.jeffbrock.org and that should work.

Thank you again,
Jeff Brock
