Micro-evolution, which is natural selection, is proven, but macro-evolution , which is genetic mutation, is not.
Natural selection is the process whereby the natural environment decides which species to survive and which to become extinct. It is best illustrated through the well-known “peppered moth†example. The Peppered moth is typically a whitish moth covered with black spots. This coloration provides an effective camouflage for the moths as they rest on trees. Like humans, however, these moths can be found in a range of pigmentation from very black to very white and all shades in between. In a much touted study in England it was found that when the white trees, on which the moths rested, became dark from industrial pollution, birds ate more of the lighter moths (apparently missing the darker ones). It came as no surprise that the population of darker moths increased while the lighter ones decreased. It was further observed (but rarely mentioned) that when cities cleaned up their air, the trees got lighter and the lighter moths again predominated. This is natural selection in action.
It is important to note that at the start and end of the story there are only light and dark colored moths present. No new trait has been acquired. The only difference is a shift in the color distribution in the population. If the trees turn blue, no blue moths will appear, there is no genetic mutation, and thus, no macro-evolution in this case. In fact, there is no macro-evolution in any case for that matter.
Mutations are defined as random changes in cellular DNA. Evolutionists have ascribed wondrous powers to mutations, the ability to create new body parts and new animals (amoebae to man evolution).
In reality, all mutations are extremely dangerous and are wreaking havoc on the human race and other living creatures. Recent research has revealed literally tens of thousands of different mutations affecting the human genome, with a likelihood of many more yet to be characterized. These have been associated with thousands of diseases affecting every organ and tissue type in the body. The human mutation problem is bad and getting worse. Literally thousands of human diseases associated with genetic mutations have been catalogued in recent years, with more being described continually. A recent reference book of medical genetics listed some 4,500 different genetic diseases such as damaging organs, cancer, infertility, etc…
However, there are no identified positive mutations. Since evolution states that positive mutations are required for macro-evolution and to offset downward pull of the many harmful mutation., we conclude that there is no such thing as macro-evolution.
Evolutionists claim that the Earth’s rock formation is a vertical display of the various geologic eras and it supposedly illustrates the nature of the fossil record, with recent fossils on the top and older ones on the bottom. By following the fossils from bottom to top, one can “see” evolution. However, we learn that this not the case.
Firstly, contrary to common belief, most fossils are not of extinct types of animals. Most fossils are very similar (and often totally identical) to creatures living today. It is said there are many more living species of animals than there are types known only as fossils. If Evolution is true, one may wonder why the case is not just the reverse! Evolutionary history is supposed to be filled with temporary, intermediate stages of Evolution, from amoeba to man. However, no transitional fossils can be found, only completed complex fossils, so living things do not “change†over time.
Another point is that even the smallest creatures in the lowest strata of the earth are extremely complex. This is a terrible blow to the evolutionists, who cannot explain it, since they claimed that earlier, less developed living things are supposed to be found there.
Also, animals almost never fossilize unless they are buried quickly and deeply – before scavengers, bacteria and erosion reduce them to dust. Such conditions are highly unusual, and the very existence of the fossils, strongly indicates catastrophic conditions were involved in their burial and preservation. Without such conditions, there seems to be no plausible way to explain their existence. Huge dinosaurs, huge schools of fish, and many diverse animals are found entombed by massive water-laid sediments which hardened into rock. Only a worldwide flood (such as Noah’s flood as suggested in the Bible) could have form the fossils in this way.
Finally, there is increasing evidence that many sedimentary rocks, which evolutionists thought took thousands or millions of years to accumulate, almost certainly were deposited in only months, days, hours, or minutes.
And so, one can see that the nature of rock and fossil formation adds credibility to creation and casts enormous doubts on evolution.
